WASHINGTON, August 3rd, 2023 – Networking For Future, Inc. (NFF), a Mid-Atlantic-based, performance focused IT solutions provider, today shared that several members of the NFF team presented at the Virginia Smart Community Testbed Project Review and Showcase held at Mary Washington University on July 20th. https://www.virginiaipc.org/smart-community-testbed
The Virginia Smart Community Testbed serves as Virginia’s “living laboratory” to test new smart technologies and generate practical solutions that can be used as the “Model Smart Community” by cities, counties, and communities across the Commonwealth, country, and world.
The NFF presentation entitled “Smart Grid Of The Future Secure, Innovative IOT Network Solutions” provided attendees the key results, and analytics from the NFF Testbed project. https://www.nffinc.com/nff-demonstrates-next-generation-broadband-and-smart-technologies-at-virginia-smart-community-testbed-one-year-anniversary/
The project goal was to validate solutions that help close the digital divide, foster economic growth, conserve energy, save taxpayer dollars, and expedite broadband solutions, including 5G and Wi-Fi 6. NFF built a team of industry-leading partners with innovative technology solutions to produce replicable best practices for the deployment of broadband, Internet and IoT solutions that can be seamlessly implemented in the most challenging environments.
NFF and their partners successfully demonstrated how to efficiently and securely deploy a Smart connectivity grid through innovative fiber and wireless technologies with Smart lighting to expand public access to the Internet, improve public services and safety. Additionally, NFF and their partners produced replicable best practices for the deployment of broadband and IoT solutions that can be adopted by government and education.
Some of the NFF Testbed project results include:
- 80% improvement on the ability to accelerate design, permitting, and technology integration time frames versus the usual broadband Internet project
- 75% improvement on the ability to accelerate deployment of fiber optic cables to support broadband connectivity projects (no road cuts)
- 90% improvement for accelerating the implementation of secure Gigabit-speed wireless broadband networks
- Additional results include reduced energy consumption via intelligent lighting and innovative power solutions even in the most challenging environments
“Smart Community and Smart Campus connectivity grids and the applications that leverage them will rely on innovative and flexible solutions from a variety of partners” stated Chris Peabody, Chief Strategy Officer for NFF. “We’re honored to have been the Systems Integrator on this important project and the opportunity to work with so many innovative partners.”
